Bake It Black Records has released the 2011 recording Don't Look Back by Paul Dougherty. Don't Look Back is the third CD in the last 3 years recorded by Paul. This collection of songs were mostly written between 1987-1988 and went unrecorded until now, including 2 songs written around 1995 during Paul's tenure with the Nashville band Chilhowie.

These early indie rock songs were written by Paul Dougherty as well as recorded in Munich, Germany. Highlights include the single Generation Ex and songs such as Man in the Moon, Ash Wednesday, Poison Tree and more.

The 2010 collection of songs from Paul Dougherty comes on the heels of the 2009 release Grace Under Water, the critically acclaimed and Top 10 Roots Music Report charting album. All songs were written and recorded by Paul Dougherty at his home studio in Munich, Germany in 2010.

Grace Under Water is the cd from Paul Dougherty, released in 2009. Since its release, it has been gathering rave reviews from press and listeners around the world.

Grace Under Water was recorded in 2009. The cd is a collection of 12 original tunes which range from Indie Pop to Americana sounds. The songs owe recognition to influences such as Nick Drake, John Lennon, Townes Van Zandt, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Paul Westerberg. The cd has been released on the self-owned Bake It Black Records.

Paul is also an avid photographer, painter and writer. Most of his photo techniques involve analog processes, including some of the first photographic processes ever invented that require contact printing and UV light such as cyanotypes, a technique developed in 1842 by John Herschel, as well as Vandykes, Gum bichromate prints, Tempera prints and more. He also uses various Polaroid techniques and Polaroid films such as SX70 manipulations and peel apart processes, emulsion lifts and emulsion transfers.

Paul's favorite photographic process is Lith photography, which involves the use of special lith developers and papers made especially for this process. Many of the photos you can see in the photography section of this site are infrared photographs developed as lith prints and toned using various toners such as gold, selenium, copper and more.
